Karma Police
Radiohead

Karma police, arrest this man
He talks in maths
He buzzes like a fridge
He's like a detuned radio

Karma police, arrest this girl
Her Hitler hairdo is
Making me feel ill
And we have crashed her party

This is what you'll get
This is what you'll get
This is what you'll get when you mess with us

Karma Police
I've given all I can
It's not enough
I've given all I can
But we're still on the payroll

This is what you'll get
This is what you'll get
This is what you'll get when you mess with us

And for a minute there, I lost myself, I lost myself
Phew, for a minute there, I lost myself, I lost myself

For for a minute there, I lost myself, I lost myself
Phew, for a minute there, I lost myself, I lost myself

Come What May

Hi y'all!

May is a about to end and it has been quite an eventful month for me. But yes, as usual, I'm too lazy to blog about them happenings. Here are some of the things that I did this month:

  • voted for the Philippine Presidential Elections - I said on my last blog entry that I might write a post about the elections but I decided not to do it anymore. Not because I'm lazy (yeah, right!), but because I have been campaigning from my favorite candidates on Facebook for the past several months already. My candidates did not win, unfortunately, but I feel great voting for them. And also, it's the first time the Philippines held an automated elections. Very overrated, but it made the counting of the ballots much, much faster.
  • went to the Pahiyas Festival in Brgy. San Isidro, Lucban, Quezon - a lot of people say that it's the journey that matters the most, not the destination (or something close to that), and on this trip, that saying has become very true. I and my friends reached the place after a long and tiresome 6-hour journey. The festival itself, though really colorful and kinda exciting, is, in reality, quite overrated and not really much worth the long trip. Anyway, after our short and chaotic stay in Quezon (and also after finally trying the local Pancit Habhab), we went on our way back to Manila. But we also passed by Los Baos, Laguna, where we ate dinner did some stargazing. then we were so tired to go back to Manila so we spent the night there with one of my friends with me. All's well that ends well
  • at the start of the month (probably by the last week of April... I can't really remember, haha), Peyups.com forums finally reopened. And along with it came in some new members, whom some of them I have already met, therefore gaining me some new friends. And some of the girls are very pretty, haha, but I'm taking my time to get to know them better. Anyway, that's not really the point. The point is gaining some new friends is always cool for me. There.
  • went out with some of these new friends along with the other (slightly) old ones. Meeting them personally is good most of the times: it takes away the stress that I get from work. And I'd love to meet them more in the coming days.
  • as usual, I watched lots of (new) movies, like Iron Man (quite good) and Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (also good), in theaters. And lots on my PC, like Lilo and Stitch, Leon (The Professional), and Moon (starring Sam Rockwell, and a really, really good movie as well).
  • aside from watching movies, I also started playing again an old favorite of mine on the N64 emulator, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (Master Quest). It's still as fresh as ever, and it is even better than most of the games that I have played recently.
So, there you go. that's how May came and went for me. By the way, I will later meet up with some high school friends. A cool way to end the month, methinks.

I'm looking forward to a better month of June.

Ciao! :D

Cancer?

If procrastination is a deadly disease, an incurable cancer... I would have already been rotting dead long time ago, haha. As much as I would like to blog, I just can't find the time. Whenever I have something in mind, I could just easily say it on Facebook and be done with it. But anyway, I really don't have much to say so I just keep mum, well, at least here on my blog.

I'd probably write some new articles soon. Some election-related related stuff, since the Philippine Presidential election will happen in 2 weeks.

By the way, I'm A-OK, if anyone out there wants to know.

So there. I'll be write some more stuff in the coming days. Just don't expect much out of it, haha.

Bye!

The Month that was February

February was a good month for me. I met some new friends, reconnected with old ones, went to different places, and just had my fair share of good times. Not the entire month, of course, because there were those shitty days as well. But enough of them shitty days. I don't even want to think about them. I'm just into the good ones, woowoot!

But, unfortunately, I've been a lazy blogger, so I can't readily remember the details. Damn. But yeah, I've spent a weekend in Laguna with some new friends, met some old friends and just talked and laughed until the next morning, got totally shit-faced with some other friends during an impromptu drinking session, and... um... yeah.

Lazy.

Anyway, I'll try to blog more often, haha.

Till next time, folks.

Run, Fat Boy, Run

I started a new hobby about a couple of weeks ago: running. I know that a lot of people have started the same hobby and a friend of mine said that 2009 was the "Year of Running" since a lot of people just suddenly decided that they should do so. Some do it for fun. Some for necessity, because they are fat and needs to cut down their weight so that they won't die of heart ailments by age 40. And some just for shits 'n giggles: posers. People who just run so that they can others that they run.

I'm in the group who does it for fun AND necessity, or so I think.

Like what I stated a couple of weeks ago, I'd like to start new hobbies, and running is one of them. I've been into working out for the last 3 or so years. But I don't do it as often as I should: normally, I just do it on weekends. And even if I do work out almost once a week, I find myself still overweight. About a year ago, I managed to lose at least 25 pounds, but I have regained almost all of it because I eat a lot and my metabolism is very low and I don't play sports often. So starting this year, I promised myself that I would be more disciplined and be more concerned with my health. I'm not getting any younger and lots of different diseases and ailments are programmed in my genes that will haunt me down in the next ten years or so. So to better prepare for the inevitable, I need to be very healthy so that I won't die soon.

So, back to running... I started a couple of weeks ago because a friend of mine (whom I haven't seen for almost 9 years) asked me to join him jogging at a nearby subdivision one fine Monday morning. I was a bit enthusiastic with the idea of running and I told myself that it will be very easy since I have been working out for years and whatnot. But I was wrong. Dead wrong.

That Monday morning came, and I woke up at around 5am after sleeping for just under 4 hours because I was playing that diabolical game Plants vs. Zombies. At around 10 minutes before 6am, I met with this high school friend of mine and another friend, with I semi-regularly go to gym with and also an old friend since elementary school. The sun was still not up and the wind was cold and I thought that everything will be fine. After some warm up exercises, we started running.... or just jogging since we didn't really run fast.

And after about 30 meters, I knew something's wrong. I began panting like crazy and I started to run slowly and the two friends of mine, instead of waiting for me, just continued jogging at a steady pace (bastards...). I soon found myself stopped running, but instead I was just walking and I was still panting and it seemed that I was very, very tired. Apparently, I don't have strong lungs, which I find quite strange since I don't smoke. Plus the fact that I injured my right knee more than 3 years ago, which somehow rendered me reluctant to run. Yeah, that's probably it.

Anyway, I was able to finish the 5 kilometer or so course. I probably did more walking than running since I really couldn't sustain running for more than 20-30 meters. I immediately went back home, where some minutes later I found myself having very sore legs, especially my week knees.

The next week, I went jogging again with the same set of friends and almost the same thing happened. It was very frustrating because.. it just is, damn it.

I know that it will not be very easy so I guess I'll just do it more often to have my body adapt to this new form of exercise. It will be just working out: I'll start slow with light weights and then gradually lift heavier weight as my body adapts. I'll do better next time. Hopefully, that is. Yeah. Who knows? I might be running with them runners in marathons and whatnot. Yeah... there will be long way to go still but I will do it. Why not?

'Til next time, y'all.

:D

XXVI

Today is my 26th birthday, woohoo!

I've been alive for a quarter of a century and a year and I feel ok. I'm in good health, except for a lingering cough that doesn't really bother me much, and my life, in general, is quite satisfactory. I won't say that I'm entirely satisfied with how my life has been going this past few years but I believe that things are getting better.

OK... so here goes another year...

This year, I plan to do lots of stuff... yeah... nothing really in particular... just... things. Like, I'd like to travel to some far away places (If I could get out of the country, that would be better), meet new people, (re)learn things like Nihonggo and Java and other (computer) languages, write/publish some new stuff (I still hope to have a book published but I'd like to be pragmatic so I won't expect much about it but I'll work on it), work out more to lose more weight and be in better shape, and try or improve on some new hobbies, like playing new sports, photography, film making/video editing, and playing keyboards and other musical instruments.

That a lot of stuff to do, right? Hmmm... I guess I need to lessen my procrastination, haha! I won't say I'll stop procrastinating because I know I can't, so I'll just lessen it. I'd be more focused in whatever I do. There! That seems better.

Anyway, I look forward to a really good year. For me and for everyone. :D
